About The Club

The Garden Club of Jacksonville, Inc. is a non-profit, scientific and educational association organized to promote the study and conservation of our environment, particularly horticulture and related fields, and floral design.

History of the Club

Inspired by the gardens of Europe, Ninah May Holden Cummer gathered a group of twenty friends in her Riverside home on March 25, 1922 to organize a garden club to create a more beautiful city.  This group ultimately was to become the Garden Club of Jacksonville, Inc.

Club Membership

The Garden Club of Jacksonville is not just a social club, but one which endeavors to carry on the rich tradition of teaching members about gardening. Many events sponsored by the GCOJ are open to the public and we welcome new members to come and learn as well as share their ideas and knowledge of gardening.
